Real stories about dating and relationships in New York City. Truth is more interesting than fiction.

Not According to Plan

I’ve been off-line for most of the last few days.   stuff, sorta.

Anyways, I also had to miss 2 friend’s parties (which I was very sad about) and cancel my 2nd with Mr. Midwest (our 3rd went well and he asked me out again as we kissed outside my building at the end of the night). We don’t have specific make-up plans, but I’m hoping we’ll make some.

I did, randomly, keep a . I figured I could keep it short, and the in question had been very aggressively pursuing me for a while. He was a nice enough and we’ll probably see each other again, though I’m concerned that’s he’s a bit too enthusiastic (he texted right after the date and again the next morning).  But I realize that’s probably just me being too used to guys playing games.

Anyway, I’m not really up to posting anything right now. Just wanted to catch you up on the dating stuff.

Hopefully I’ll feel better soon.

  1. just curious, how does “enthusiasm” relate to “playing games”? BTW, if a woman comes across as “too enthusiastic”, I get a little concerned too; but not because I think she’s playing games but because getting “too enthusiastic” too soon has always resulted in showing me that the woman in question has way-too-open boundaries… but that’s just me lol.

    Feel better ;-)

Sorry to hear you haven’t been feeling well — noted you were off twitter a bit. Hope you are feeling better. I suspect you need more coffee and a cabana boy to bring it to you. What you do with the coffee or the cabana boy is –

  3. aww. feel better chica!
if I can help out Icounsel4food… I don’t think she meant that the guy was playing games because he was too enthusiastic… she is admitting that her suspicion is a derivative of her belief that men play games. If that makes sense… and helps.

Oddly.. I have the same issue, that whole Groucho Marx philosophy, “I don’t want to join any club that would have me as a member.” lol
Pick up the phone… remember how it worked in highschool and college when that kind of thing turned us on? Pretend we haven’t been on this dating scene as long as we have. :P

I know how you feel, I have been sick for over a week and is driving my crazy already. Of course, this weather doesn’t help. Feel better soon and good luck on catching up with Mr. Midwest ;-)

  5. Simone Grant says:

Thank you everyone. I really appreciate your support. More than you can possibly realize.

  6. Lee says:

There are several possibilities regarding Mr. Midwest, he may be needy, he may be insecure or he may simply like you and happens to wear his heart on his sleeve.

  7. Ms. Bitch says:

Or maybe he just really really likes his phone and texts all the time. I used to do that for the first three weeks after I get a cool new phone. Next time you see him, ask him when he bought his phone.

Argh! You said “anyways.” Have you succumbed to that maddening virus?!
