So I Asked Her to Join My Harem…

Part 2

I called her and asked her who the email was intended for. She gave me a story that she was writing to herself in order to get it off her chest, and it was never meant to go to anyone. I bought it. She was a writer, and I had already discovered she wrote for hours on end. Still, I backed off. She was smarter than I took her for, and I landed up taking the prettier of the two remaining girls to my special event. Had a good time, too.

Things were very slow for about six weeks after that. There was distance. Still, we glanced at each other across the dance floor, and I was aware, as she was, that there was intense between us, and that’s something I just couldn’t ignore.  She burned me up, and she was hot.

So, the kissing and cuddling started again, and then, because things were getting complicated explaining why I couldn’t see her on Saturday night, I told her there was another woman. I thought she’d be okay with that. I mean honestly counts for something, doesn’t it?

My plans had come about because I knew that I couldn’t be in a single relationship anymore. They just never worked, and I got so hurt when we bust up that it took me months to get over it. I didn’t want to go through that again, and so planned on getting myself a harem full of women, and we could all live in the same house. They would love each other like sisters, and even make out with each other, and I would have with whoever took my fancy that night. And if one upset me, there’d be another to comfort me. Safe . No emotional involvement.

“Listen Sweetness,” I said, “You know, I’m not only seeing one other woman. I’m seeing two other women, and I’m aiming on collecting seven. That’s one for each day of the week. And I plan for all of us to live together in a big house, and you girls can play nicely together.” I even explained to her that I didn’t want to get hurt again. I’m a big man when it comes to being open with the ladies I like. I explained that I wanted us all to be together so that it was a great family experience.

Talk about fury!

She told me which bus to take to Mars and hoped that I suffocated in the non-air. Then she vanished, and it was another year before I saw her again.

I was surprised to find that I missed her, that I had felt a strong connection to her, and that it was a far deeper than just a bucketful of chemistry.

The other girls didn’t take to it too well either, and they all went off in their different directions as well.

Took me a year to realize that a harem wasn’t going to go down well. But now I know.

  1. Seriously? Did you really think that was going to fly? Hahahaha. Sorry, my Ex used to say something like this: wanting a woman for every day of the week. That many guys would just make me tired! Or you could convert to mormonism.

  2. Sandyvs says:

I’ve read this twice now, and I’m still stunned! All I can think is that this proves some men really ARE from Mars……I can’t believe there is enough space in a room for this guy’s ego.

  3. Themis says:

I think the tongue in cheek way of dealing with a very real and raw issue, the fear of emotional trauma and the fall out from a break up, is witty and original.

Sorry she wasn’t keen on signing up for harem duty, but there’s always the next life.
