Online Dating Update – A Quickie
It’s been a while since I’ve mentioned this and so I figured it was time. I was wrong in my initial assessment of OKCupid (when I said there were no decent guys on there for me). Totally wrong.
It’s been a few weeks now and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the guys I’ve met on OKC. There are still 2 in the running (Coach and The European) and I haven’t come anywhere near exhausting the pool of interesting guys in my target group(guys ages 40-50 who live in NYC). To be honest, I’ve been so busy I haven’t even logged on in the last couple of days. For all I know my dream guy just signed up yesterday.
But - Yeah, there’s a but. There’s always a but. I still feel like the biggest, best selection of guys for me is on nerve.com. So starting sometime soon I’m going to reactivate my nerve.com profile and do some side by side comparisons. This is for me but it’s also for a friend who was asking about the online dating scene. I can’t very well report accurately if I’m just using one site, now can I?

My Match.com expired yesterday…which I’m fine with. Just got one last guy off there that I’m emailing – w00t! I’ll have to check out nerve.com…
I’m a little surprised that Coach is still in the running. Not that I care, but isn’t he the one who can’t come up with a plan..twice? He must have so much more going on.

nerve.com is very city specific, really great in some places and not so great in others. The good thing is that you can sign up and pretty much use it for free (though it does make sense to invest in a silver member package if you like what you see and think you’ll want to use it a lot).

I’m surprised too. This is me trying to expand outside my usual dating habits. If I’ve always dated type X and type X has turned out to not be such a good idea (for so many reasons) then it makes sense to give type Y a try – or so goes the reasoning. Not that he isn’t pissing me off and making me want to give up on him. He is.
um – didn’t I see you saying bad things about OKCupid on Twitter earlier today? I thought that was you.
