Real stories about dating and relationships in New York City. Truth is more interesting than fiction.

And What a Good Morning It is

Good Morning Everyone.

Yes, Mr. Potential spent the night.
I’ve been sitting here, drinking my , trying to figure out exactly how much I want to tell you all about last night.  We’re in new territory here (for this blog). I’ve never been the kind of girl to give my friends the gory details, and so it would be so unlike me to get into them here.
Some PG-13 details:  He showed up with gifts (yes, gifts – this guy really is too sweet for words) and then made his move before I slid the dvd out of the netflix sleeve (yeah!!).  And his lack of confidence in dating has nothing to do with a lack of skills elsewhere.
When I told him, “you’re welcome to stay the night, though I understand if you’d like to go home and sleep in your own bed” I genuinely wanted him to stay, even though I knew I wouldn’t get much sleep.  It always takes me a while to adjust to a new person in my bed. Oh, and I was delighted to find that he’s not a loud snorer and he doesn’t hog the covers and so I actually did get a little sleep.
I’m actually out of town for the next couple of days, and so we’ll see how things proceed from here.    I leave you with a new , “I’m Waking Up to Us” by Belle & Sebastian (a little a.m. irony).  I’ll do my best to switch it sometime later tomorrow.

Wow, good stuff! I had a feeling he would come through. I wonder if you have any doubts about him still…

He brought me some ridiculously fancy bath soaps and candles. Personal and feminine but not over the top. I’m not into flowers and I am SO impressed that he figured that out.
Thanks lisaq and bobbyboy. I am feeling good about this but I don’t want to get too excited yet.
some doubts, yes. I wonder how he would deal with the “complete truth”, but I am going to take it one day at a time.

Music to my ears SG! I am of the belief that partners have a more positive outlook on the “complete truth” than we have on telling it.
