My Half Naked Pic

For a while now I’ve been been trying to decide what this should look like. I was pretty clueless when I started it.  I read a bunch of blogs, but I was so focussed on what they said, the writing, that it didn’t occur to me that they had a bunch of different layouts and that the choices were different on blogspot, wordpress, etc.  When I decided to take the leap I picked the one I was most familiar with because a couple of had blogs here and then picked a pretty generic template because I liked the color scheme.

It hadn’t occurred to me that I should put more thought into it.  Not until I started to get comments telling me to add graphics and pics and change things up.  I just wanted to write. Not learn html or take up a new hobby. Anyway…
I thought a lot about whether or not I wanted to have a pic of myself out here in cyberspace, as this is anonymous.  And if I had one, what type. Eventually I decided to just go for it.  I thought of the opening of with the pic of Carrie/SJP passing by on the bus in her “naked dress” and I decided that I would just skip the dress and be naked.  Or almost naked, as I wanted to try to make it still SFW (that’s suitable for work for those of you who don’t read occasionally inappropriate blogs).
I asked one of my favorite men on the planet to take the pic (pics, as we shot over a hundred that night).  He and I dated for a few months a couple of years ago and we made a lousy couple. We just weren’t meant to be romantically involved.  We were meant to be friends.  And he is a great friend.  He made it easy for me to make an ass of myself, posing in lingerie and silly props (There were props!  I’ll use more of the pics later on.).
Please let me know what you think. Is it too racy?  Do I look ridiculous?  Is it NSFW (not suitable for work)?  I know a lot of people read this blog at their cubicles.  I’ll kill the pic if it means losing readers.

I think the pic is beautiful, sexy (but not too sexy) goes perfectly with the title and subject of your blog and is just … well … superb! Don’t even think of changing it! Well done.

PS: I wish I’d taken up photography now :)

I think its basically safe for work. And you’re beautiful!

  3. Cesar Monroy says:

Yup. I like the picture. It is classy and sexy; revealing, but yet concealing. Excellent work!

  4. Ane Fallarme says:

I actually like the pic, it looks very sexy in an artistic kind of way, it’s not too racy at all… :) I love it… Regarding your template, there are a lot of layouts to choose from out there that are pre-made and all you have to do is download them and wa la, it’s all done… :) choose a 3 column template so you can have more room to place those pictures in… :)

Gosh (btw, I’m the kind of person who writes gosh and heck but would never say them – I have kind of a potty mouth), I’m overwhelmed by all of your compliments. I was really concerned that I was making an even bigger fool of myself than usual.

Thanks everyone, for your support and feedback. It means more than you can imagine.

  9. bobbyboy says:

In my opinion, one can not make any kind of fool of themselves when dealing with the human form, its beauty, grace and elegance. I think the shot is quite professional looking actually :)

Oh, and it’s kind of easy to support a woman who braves the dating scene. You’re kind of like my idol when it comes to that…shhhhhhh, that’s between me and you, k? ;)

  10. Ian says:

Nice photo, and in no way too racy or remotely NSFW. Tasteful and well done.

  11. SINgleGIRL says:

    Thanks Ian.

First, it is a great pic. Your friend is a good photographer. It definitely suits the blog site in terms of purpose and anonymity. And yes, it is very sexy. Appropriate for the work world? Well, in all honesty, there is nothing wrong with the photo. However, reading blogs while at work in itself is the only potential problem. Would I have read it while at work? No. I would rather read without worrying if someone were peering over my shoulder to see if I was ‘working’ or ‘wasting valuable company time’.

  13. Nana Ataa says:

You look great, very tastefully done, and I’m so very proud of you! And I thought it was a generic photo!

If only I could get my courage up to do the same…Soon come!
