Real stories about dating and relationships in New York City. Truth is more interesting than fiction.

Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe

So now that I’m back to square one with new guys I have a couple of dates scheduled for this week plus a few other guys in the hopper. I thought I’d try something new and give you a preview of this week’s dates.

Bachelor #1 is a type that I go for a lot – the arty tech . He makes his living in a techie field but his passion is literature. In general, I’ll go for the scientist over the artist any day of the week. As much as I love the arts and literature and music, I don’t have a lot of with artistic guys. But find me a guy who’s logical, detail-oriented, has a head for facts and figures AND has an artistic side, well then I go all gushy.

There is a potential physical issue with Bachelor #1. He’s really tall. I’d guess that he’s the tallest guy in the room about 98% of the time. I know that most women find that attractive. And I don’t have anything against tall guys, it’s just that I’m really petite. I start to feel uncomfortable when a guy is more than 13 inches taller than me. Bachelor #1 is a few inches more than 13 inches taller than me. And twice my weight. I don’t want to get graphic here, but just imagine some of the body alignment issues we’d have to deal with as a couple. It’s not a deal breaker, but it is an issue.

Bachelor #2 is a completely different type. He’s your stereotypical NY- smartass, has his own small company on the fringe of the entertainment industry, divorced dad who couldn’t get together last Wednesday night because he was watching the debates with a room full of his liberal . I’ll be honest, I always think I’m going to like guys like him and frequently do – at first. I dig dads in general, as long as they’re good dads and see their kids a lot. Bad dads need not apply. Too often, though, (divorced guys in general) want to live out a second adolescence and I’m not really interested in being someone’s ‘partner in crime’. I just want to be someone’s partner.

So those are this week’s contestants. Wish me luck.

Oh, I wish you all the luck in the world, I really do. Me? I’d back #1 all the way. Issues of size? Come on, woman! You’re a bit more experienced and imaginative than that! You can work around that. It’s all just in your head. Mind you, I can understand that it might be a bit intimidating, but #1 definitely. Of course, apart from the height, he does sound almost exactly like a younger me, but hey, I’m not biased :)

Hope they both go well girl! The last guy I dated was 17″ taller than me! Even at 5 foot, I love ‘em tall. Let’s just the body alignment thing wasn’t an issue! ;)

Can’t wait to hear how they go!
